Our Leaders

Pastor John Ahn

In his third decade in ministry, Pastor John Ahn has served and held children’s, youth, education, college, adults, family, and older adults’ ministries, including twice lead EM pastor, two church plants, and senior pastorship (in New York, Texas, and Maryland) – since 1990. Ordained in 2001 (KPCA), he has enjoyed serving the Korean American and other mainline churches.

Pastor Ahn has been a spiritual, faith, and academic leader for national and international communities. Highly published, he is the author/editor of several works, of which, Korean and Korean American Biblical Interpretation (2019, SBL Press) is an example.

Pastor John Ahn is married to Angie. They have three grown children: Isaiah, Alex, and Caroline. They also have two dogs: Plato and Belle. He enjoys all sports (especially volleyball), music, reading and writing, and Formula 1.

He is truly dedicated to the current and future well-being of Korean (Asian) Americans in North America. He believes and advocates for the local church toward the greater common good.

Jundosanim (JDSN), non-ordained Pastor
Unsil JDSN leads Women’s Bible Study at Bethany EM Church. Unsil’s wisdom and counsel are the foundations and the pinnacle of what it means to serve others and be more like Christ here at Bethany EM. She has completed two master’s degree from Liberty University.
Isaiah

Jundosanim (JDSN), non-ordained Pastor
Isaiah JDSN is responsible for Bethany EM Church’s College Ministry. He wants college students to know who Jesus is and to live out Jesus’ teachings because faith without works is dead. Isaiah completed his master’s degree at Yale Divinity School.
Min

Director of Music + Deacon
Min curates and leads our Music ministry here at Bethany EM Church. She cares for each of her volunteers the same way she cares for her students: with gentle and assertive leadership. We’re lucky to have Min guiding us each week.
Alice

Administrator + Deacon
At Bethany EM Church, Alice is our church administrator. All things begin and end with Alice. You need something in the bulletin? Alice. You want to meet Pastor Ahn? Please speak to Alice. She holds the (figurative) keys to all things Bethany EM Church.
